The 4th National Meeting on Academic Discourse (ENDA 4) will take place at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, Portugal, on October 17–18, 2025, under the theme: “Transversality of Language: Linguistic Description and Didactic Transposition.”
ENDA 4 aims to:
- Strengthen the disciplinary field of school and academic discourse;
- Reinforce connections between researchers and educators;
- Promote the application of collaborative dynamics;
- Develop work on and for school and academic literacy;
- Share innovative pedagogical practices.
ENDA 4 is jointly organized by the Center for General and Applied Linguistics Studies (CELGA-ILTEC, University of Coimbra) and the School of Education of Santarém. The event is also supported by the interinstitutional group ProTextos: Teaching and Learning of Text Writing and the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic of Leiria.

- Second call for proposals: April 15, 2025
- Proposal submission period: April 15 – May 15, 2025
- Proposal evaluation period: May 16 – July 15, 2025
- Final notification to authors: July 16, 2025
- First registration period (reduced fee): July 16 – September 14, 2025
- Second registration period (regular fee): September 15 – October 1, 2025
- ENDA 4 conference dates: October 17–18, 2025
- Submission of full papers: January 15, 2026
Call for Proposals
Submissions are invited for ongoing or completed research work on school and academic discourse that aligns with the objectives of ENDA 4. Proposals can be submitted in one of the following formats:
- Oral Presentations – 20-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute discussion.
- Posters – Permanent exhibition during the event.
Submissions should be made via the CMT platform (Microsoft’s Conference Management Toolkit) at [insert link].
Guidelines
Oral Presentations
Oral presentation proposals should be between 1000 and 1500 words and must include:
- Title
- Keywords (maximum of 5)
- Extended abstract with clear objectives, theoretical framework, methodology, and results (observed or expected)
- References (maximum of 10), formatted according to the 7th edition of APA guidelines
Preference will be given to oral presentation proposals that offer significant contributions to the field.
Posters
Scientific posters are primarily intended for ongoing doctoral research, completed master’s theses, and supervised internship reports.
Evaluation Criteria
All proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Alignment with the ENDA 4 objectives;
- Compliance with submission guidelines;
- Originality and relevance of the research;
- Coherence between the stated objectives and the work conducted;
- Appropriateness of the methodological choices;
- Consistency of the theoretical framework and up-to-date references;
- Clarity and formal accuracy of the proposal.
