IMFS August will take place next week | 5th August
The August 2021 session of the International Manufacturing Forum Series will take place next Thursday, 5th of August, starting from 10:00am (GMT+1), via Zoom platform.
Natural Products are widely used as ingredients in pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics and other products. Intelligent manufacturing of natural raw materials enables the possibility to obtain reinforced composites, useful in many industries such as the textile, paper, plastic, construction and medical. In food, natural products can be employed as additive to produce healthier products using the 3D printing technologies. In medicine, phytochemicals as essential oils and herbal extract can be very effective in wound treatments through the manufacturing of polymer matrix. We welcome papers which address any of these areas both with regard to laboratory work and case studies with products involving natural products.
The International Manufacturing Forum Series is a major initative from the Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP) of the Polytechnic of Leiria in Portugal. This is a twelve day virtual conference spread over 12 months, with a one conference held on the first thursday of each month. Each one day conference will focus on a specific topic within the broad umbrella of Manufacturing. There will be a particular emphasis on topics related to Industry 4.0 and Digital Manufacturing. CDRSP is a centre of excellence in the field of Direct Digital Manufacturing and was recently judged by an International Panel of the Foundation for Science and Technology to be the best Research Unit in the field of Mechanical Engineering and System Engineering in Portugal.
