Nuno Alves, Paula Faria and Sandra Amado organized the fourth edition of the Symposium on Computational Tools for Direct Digital Manufacturing (CT4DDM)

Nuno Alves, Paula Pascoal Faria and Sandra Amado from the Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development, Institute Polytechnic of Leiria, Portugal organized the fourth edition of the Symposium on Computational Tools for Direct Digital Manufacturing (CT4DDM),  held within the International Conference on Applied Mathematics ICNAAM 2018, on Rhodes, Greece from 13-18 of September 2018. This is the fourth time that they are invited to organise CT4DDM as part of ICNAAM.

CT4DDM is designed to be the forum for the scientific exchange of multidisciplinary issues in order to enhance the interaction between academy and industry, promoting the exploitation of cutting-edge tools for real-life problems. This forms part of the Mathematics in Industry Project at CDRSP-IPLeiria. Geoffrey Mitchell, Nuno Alves and Paula Pascoal-Faria of CDRSP presented invited and keynote oral communications focused on computational tools for the manufacturing industry and specifically on Validation of structures during their preparation using direct digital manufacturing; Manufacturing complex structures using DDM; and New Developments in Water Assisted Injection Moulding.
