CDRSP launch its first Research Symposia on 18 of April

On 18 of April, the first CDRSP research symposia took place at CDRSP facilities. This event will occur every month and CDRSP researchers and collaborators have the opportunity to present and discuss their work with all the participants.   Everyone is invited to join. Workshop on MAM – Metal Additive Manufacturing – ADDISPACE Project

During this week, the Workshop on MAM – Metal Additive Manufacturing – is taking place in the framework of the ADDISPACE project (www.addispace.eu). Ten students from ESTIA (France) and 10 students from the IPL – Master in Product Design Engineering and the Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering – Industrial Production. The main aspects of the metal additive manufacturing technology in the industrial context are discussed.

CDRSP participates in 2nd 3D printing conference in London

A new methodology to control the morphology of polymers and hence their properties

A new methodology to control the morphology of polymers and hence their properties has been published by CDRSP-IPLeira Researcher Professor Geoffrey Mitchell as part of a FCT funded project “Understanding Crystallisation for Enhanced Properties UC4EP”.   By making a very small change to the composition of the plastic resin, Professor Mitchell’s team were able to observe a 90 degree rotation of the orientation of the crystals.
